According to a Chinese tipster, Sony is working on a 200MP camera sensor for smartphones, rumoured to be larger than Samsung’s current offerings. At present, Samsung is the leading brand providing 200MP camera sensors for smartphones, with many manufacturers, particularly Chinese brands, widely adopting them. This has allowed Samsung to maintain a near-monopoly in this segment. However, Sony, the Japanese tech giant, is poised to become a formidable competitor.
