Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds profound religious significance in Islam. The 1st of Muharram is also observed as Youm-e-Umar, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), the second Caliph of Islam, who was assassinated on this day in 23 AH (644 CE).

Additionally, Ashura, observed on the 10th of Muharram, marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn Ali (RA), along with his family and companions, during the tragic Battle of Karbala.
